This Morning's Email
Many of the people I'm working with in Kenya don't own computers or have access to the internet at home. For those of you that have not traveled in Kenya, or used computers while there, people who need to use the net pay for the time at internet cafe's. A friend recently reminded me it's about 7 Kenya Schillings for ten minutes use- that's about a dime - and people have to save the money. And it's a VERY SLOW dial up connection. Each email I receive come's at a cost that needs to be valued in our community of instant access online.

Two emails I woke up to this morning are posted below. The first is from Peter Sino, a young man who runs soccer leagues for children, especially street kids, in and around Narok. We're showing the Jesus Film for them. The second is from Pastor David Praise, a pastor we met while in Narok, while he was leading regional meetings, then visited at his very humble church in Nairobi.

<we were asking if your schedule is not very tight could you spare two days for Narok town? Peter>

<Our God is faithfull I have gone all round Kenya but we still need more minister with God's heart. When I was praying God ahowed me a torch in your hand with a big moving truck. The torch gave to the people light entering in that truck.the truck led "come and see the lord is good"all sides,Am planing to go on preaching this year to reach many souls, when I see the buden you have for my ppls I than God for you.kenya needs you.

Pastors workshop is there now . We met and cameup with full report No problem.first the dates,Second availability of pastors that day-

The mission accomplised Revival will start on friday 2march--4 on sunday night ending with jesus firm. What you photo please for poster people here can not come for meeting without meeting advertised so lets do agood meeting not just a meeting no.So Email your photo. All the whole team.KEEPON WE ARE KEEPING UP
God blessings for now.
DAVID>

In response to Peter- I'll be in Narok from Sunday evening, Feb. 26, when I first show the Jesus film to his soccer league - Friday morning, March 2, when I leave for Nairobi. As in my first post, you can see that most of that time is scheduled.

In response to Pastor David- Praise God! He's been able to draw together pastor's from around Nairobi to work together on this great weekend. Pray that God annoints the services and messages with His Presence and His Power. God is too good! Wish you were coming with me.

I'm humbled daily by the people coming alongside me in support of this trip. A good friend emailed me wanting to put out plates to collect money to pay for the video equipment. My prayer is that we don't need to do that. This is a great opportunity and I believe people who see and know the hope the people of Kenya are crying out for will long to give to pay for this and so much more. He's too good and I still can't believe He's opened this door for us.

I'm enjoying the blog. Hopefully I'll find access to enough internet sites while in Kenya to communicate daily - have to save my Kenya schillings!

many blessings!

Eric

The Countdown
It's that little clock on this web site that reminds me that I need to be ready to leave in just 3 weeks. I know that we're not to "worry about anything but to pray about everything" but I keep finding myself wondering about how the trip will come together. The people I'm depending on are completely reliable. There's enough good work to do that even if one or two days didn't come through the way I've anticipated it wouldn't be a problem to find something else to do for God. But I find myself wondering if I'll get the right projector, sound system, converter for the electrical in the bush, what if the bulb on the projector goes out? if the sound system's broken on the plane? if, if, if... you get the drift. Guess I need to turn it all over to The Lord. Worse case scenario, I preach. I won't lose my Bible. If I do, I can always borrow one in Kenya.

Thanks so much to those of you that have given to support this trip. The extra money for the video equiptment is going to be multiplied so many times as I show the Jesus Film and The Passion of The Christ in both villages and to pastors. If you'd like to give. Don't hesitate. As in all things, it's costing more than planned. Most of the villages have requested us day time and on non market days, that means the projector I'd plannned on taking won't work- won't show out doors in the daytime, requiring an upgrade. Also, I'm hoping to have a pastor and physicians assistant travel with me. I'll need to cover their expenses. A small amount compared to the $3,000- someone would need to pay to come with me, even still, extra.

It will be well worth the cost to learn from them and spend the time hearing their stories as we share The Lord.

I'm going to learn how to post photos to this blog before I leave... hopefully... so much new stuff! I'm longing to leave it all with The Lord and then to do my best to Make It Happen. Your prayers mean more than you'll ever know. Pray especially for God to continue to open doors to share His love and grace in all we do.

Kenya, February-March, 2007 - A Rough Look at My Schedule
The trip is starting to come together. Had been nervous about how everything was going to work out since I'm going there alone. Not to worry - as always - God's Plan is perfect and He's going out ahead of me to make The Way. He's too good.

Leave Ontario, CA Tuesday morning, Feb. 20
Arrive Nairobi, Kenya, Wednesday evening, Feb. 21
Thursday morning make the 8hr drive to Kitale - rest Thursday evening
Friday morning head to W. Pokot in W. Kenya (5 more hours of travel)
Friday evening hope to show Jesus Film in village of Runo in W. Pokot
Saturday head back toward Kitale and want to go to village of Kima, north of Kisumu and visit the church of God seminary there for Sunday morning services. Sunday afternoon, complete the drive to Narok.
Sunday evening, first showing of Jesus Film in Maasai for street kids soccer league in Narok. 2-300 kids expected. The following email is from leader of HIV Awareness and rescuer/educator of girls facing female genitalia mutilation (fgm) graciously referred to as female circumcision. Her name is Lillian Seenoi and she is helping schedule much of the rest of my week.

Her email:
The villages that we will visit when you get here are: Iltumtum, Oletukat Eore simu and Orkiriane. I have already informed my village managers and they will inform the community members about the film so be sure that you will get a large crowd to watch. The head teachers will have no problem at all showing the films in school, for high schools we can show the film in the evenings to avoid interfering with their normal lessons. Fr primary schools we can show
in the afternoon. I don't know how we will do this because of the villages although we can visit two villages in a day. I hope we will have the time. I will pick two primary schools and one high school to visit, that is Model primary school and Ole Sankale primary school and Ole Tipis high school.

For the medical camp, very possible in the villages, I will inform my
village managers that after watching the film we will have a doctor to see any patients who will be there.

She's booking a full 5 days for me!

I also will be visiting two of the villages we worked with last October during our Medical Clinics. Our hope is to build relationships that will last a lifetime.

Friday, March 2, we make the hard drive from Narok to Nairobi- worst road in the world! That night I start a 3 day crusade with Pastor David Praise at his church in a very poor, tough part of Nairobi. With them until Sunday evening.

Fly out of Nairobi, Sunday, March 4, 10pm - hope to sleep all the way home! Arrive back in Ontario, CA, Monday evening, the 5th.

Please Pray that God would protect the trip. Keep us safe. Provide the projector/screen/generator, etc... and that it all works properly. Most importantly, pray that many come to know The Love of Christ and those who already know Him Grow deeper in their relationship with Him as leaders.

Will post again soon.

Eric
